Ithink kids are very intelligent. But then again, I can only go by my own strange upbringing, and I can't say I was the model for all of America's children. I mean, I grew up watching and loving monster movies. I always had that common sense that if something was too intense for me, I'd do something else. Kids are much more intelligent than most parents would give them credit for, and if a kid thinks this is too scary -- I mean, it's not like this is Dawn of the Dead or something like that.
It's weird, but the only experiences I remember from childhood are the ones which had a major impact: fearful things, like from a scary movie. You can still recall those things, and I think that's all really healthy. When you're a kid, when things seem a lot more abstract, these kinds of things give you some sort of thrill, some sort of strength. So I don't think there's anything negative in this film at all, personally
